About the role
Ornamental Post & Panel makes custom aluminum sign products for wholesale clients in the sign industry. We're hiring a full-time Sign Fabricator/Welder at our shop in Pineville, NC, to fabricate architectural signage and decorative traffic control components. This position is open for immediate hire, starting at $24+ per hour based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Read blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications for architectural signage
- Fabricate custom aluminum signage and decorative traffic control components
- MIG weld aluminum to assemble sign components
- Measure, cut, bend, and grind metal to exact specifications
- Make sure welds are clean, structurally sound, and ready for painting and finishing
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe
- Work independently and coordinate with the production team on deadlines and quality standards
Qualifications
- 3+ years of welding experience
- Proven experience in metal fabrication
- Experience welding aluminum
- Must pass a welding and fabrication test
- Proficiency with standard shop equipment such as saws, drill presses, grinders, brakes, and shears
- Able to read a tape measure accurately and do precise shop math
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
- Strong attention to detail
- Forklift certification or experience
- English required
Preferred
- 3 years of MIG welding experience
Working conditions
- In-person, on-site role in Pineville, NC 28134; must be able to commute
- Lift, move, and maneuver heavy metal materials and components
- Stand for extended periods and perform physical labor in a shop environment
